1. THE BEST INVESTMENT
Let us think, brothers and sisters, about how much we have invested in what truly matters. No, not in the stock market. Not in property and wealth. Not in fame and prestige. Not in power and influence. Not in our cemetery plot. Not in savings accounts. Of course, that is precisely the problem. We do not know what is truly important. We have heard a great deal about it, but because we do not understand it, we turn our backs on it and choose to invest in other things of this world.
The word invest means to provide for our future, but we limit ourselves to our earthly future, when we are 60, 70, 80, or 90 years old. But what about our eternal future? How much have we invested in that account? What is the balance in our account of eternal happiness? Is the balance zero? Have we not even opened an account for our eternal happiness?
Eternity is a permanent state. The concept itself does not fit within a mind accustomed and conditioned to interpret and define everything according to the laws of time and space. That is why we do not give it importance. We are not capable of understanding what eternity truly means. And when it comes to making decisions, it seems that our human minds must understand everything, before we decide to act. For example, some people say, “If I don't see it, I don't believe it.” That is where faith comes in, brothers and sisters. Faith is what unites us with our Creator, whom we do not see with our eyes. However, we can see His works all around us.
We are tempted by worldly pleasures and devote our lives to the pursuit of comfort, external stimulation, and well-being: distractions, social media, parties, vacations, and so on, while leaving our inner lives empty and impoverished. Yet our spiritual work and the condition of our soul are the only things we will take with us. But we can change right now and surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ through prayer, reading and meditating on His Word, and through the example we set for our neighbors, praising, worshiping, and glorifying our Almighty Father in everything we do, say, and think.
Let us open an account in Heaven today. The account is called ETERNAL HAPPINESS, and it has no restrictions. We can add to it or subtract from it daily, depending on our relationship with God and our life choices. Glory to God in Heaven!
1. LA MEJOR INVERSION
Pensemos, hermanos y hermanas, cuánto hemos invertido en lo que realidad importa. No, no en el mercado de valores, no. No en propiedades y riquezas, no. No en fama y prestigio, no. No en poder e influencia, no. No en nuestra tumba del cementerio, no. No en cuentas de ahorro, no. Claro, ese es precisamente el problema. No sabemos lo que es en realidad importante. Y hemos oído hablar mucho de ello, pero como no lo entendemos, le damos la espalda y decidimos invertir en otras cosas de este mundo.
La palabra INVERTIR, significa proveer para nuestro futuro, pero nos estamos limitando a nuestro futuro terrenal, cuando tengamos 60, 70, 80, 90 años. ¿Y qué tal nuestro futuro eterno? ¿Cuánto hemos invertido en esa cuenta? ¿Qué balance tiene nuestra cuenta de felicidad eterna? ¿Tiene un balance de 0? ¿No hemos ni siquiera abierto una cuenta para nuestra felicidad eterna?
La ETERNIDAD es un estado permanente. El concepto en si mismo no tiene cabida en una mente acostumbrada y acondicionada a interpretar y definir todo bajo las leyes del tiempo y el espacio. Por eso no le damos importancia. No somos capaces de entender lo que significa la eternidad. Y para tomar decisiones parece que nuestra mente humana tiene que entenderlo todo para decidirnos a actuar, por ejemplo, hay quien dice: “si no lo veo no lo creo”. Ahí es donde entra la fe, hermanos y hermanas, es lo que nos une a nuestro Creador, al que no vemos con nuestros ojos (que El mismo creó para que no lo viéramos con ellos).
Somos tentados por los placeres mundanos y dedicamos nuestra vida a la búsqueda de comodidad, estímulos y bienestar externos, distracciones, redes sociales, fiestas, vacaciones, etc, dejando nuestra vida interior vacía y pobre. Y eso es lo único que nos vamos a llevar con nosotros, nuestro trabajo espiritual y la condición de nuestra alma. Pero podemos cambiar ya mismo, y entregarle nuestra vida al Señor Jesucristo a través de la oración, lectura y meditación de su palabra, y del ejemplo que demos a nuestro prójimo, alabando, adorando y glorificando a nuestro Padre Todopoderoso en todo lo que hacemos, decimos y pensamos. Abramos una cuenta en el Cielo hoy mismo. La cuenta se llama FELICIDAD ETERNA, y no tiene restricciones. Podemos añadir o quitar diariamente dependiendo de nuestra relación con Dios y nuestras elecciones. Gloria a Dios en el Cielo!
2. A CLEAN BACKPACK
What is there, Lord, at the end of the road? What awaits us beyond this mountain? How will we know if we are on the path that leads to eternal happiness with You, to that narrow gate that is difficult to find? How will we prepare ourselves, Lord, for that encounter with You?
Brothers and sisters, let us pause for a moment and look at what we are carrying to God inside our traveling companion, the backpack. Is it full of trash? And what if Our Lord asks us, “Where have you been that you gathered so much filth?” what will we say then? “Lost in the labyrinth of life?” And what if He will say to us: “Why did you not seek Me, despite all the opportunities I gave you?”, what will we tell Him?
Dear brothers and sisters, let us empty our backpack of everything that stinks on this new day and begin to fill it with love for God and neighbor, with good deeds, good words, good thoughts, and good desires. Let us plant good seeds so that we may reap good fruits. Let us bring gifts to our beloved Heavenly Father that are pleasing to Him. Let us throw away what is rotten, all impurity, and burn it in the fire. Let us walk the rest of the journey with a light and clean backpack, lest we suddenly find ourselves before Our Lord with dirty and empty hands.
We do not know whether today is our last opportunity. Let us act today, brothers and sisters; let us not delay any longer! What if our eternal happiness depends on it?
2. UNA MOCHILA LIMPIA
¿Qué hay, Señor, al final del camino? ¿Qué nos espera detrás de esta montaña? ¿Cómo sabremos si estamos en el camino que lleva a la felicidad eterna junto a ti, a esa puerta estrecha que es difícil de encontrar? ¿Cómo nos prepararemos, Señor, para ese encuentro contigo? Hermanos y hermanas, detengámonos un momento y miremos qué le llevamos a Dios dentro de nuestra compañera de viaje, la mochila. ¿Está llena de basura? ¿Y que tal si nos pregunta Nuestro Señor: “¿Dónde estuvieron que recogieron tanta suciedad? ¿Qué le diremos entonces?: ¿Perdidos en el laberinto de la vida? Y que tal si nos pregunta: “¿Y porqué no me buscaron con todas las oportunidades que les di? ¿Qué le diremos? Queridos hermanos y hermanas, vaciemos nuestra mochila de lo que apesta en este nuevo día y empecemos a llenarla con amor a Dios y al prójimo, con buenas obras, buenas palabras, buenos pensamientos y deseos. Plantemos buenas semillas para recoger buenos frutos. Llevémosle a nuestro querido Padre Celestial regalos que sean de su agrado. Tiremos ya lo podrido, la inmundicia, y quemémoslo en el fuego. Caminemos el resto del camino con una mochila ligera y limpia, no sea que de repente nos encontremos ante Nuestro Señor con las manos sucias y vacías. No sabemos si hoy es nuestra última oportunidad. Actuemos hoy, hermanos y hermanas, no nos demoremos más!! Qué tal si de eso depende nuestra felicidad eterna?
3. EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY
Thank You, dear Lord, Almighty God the Father, for allowing us to open our eyes to another day, to think, to plan, and to feel Your presence in everything that exists. Thank You for allowing us to delight in Your creation, to hear the singing of the birds, to admire the beauty of the trees, plants, flowers, fields, mountains, rivers, seas, beaches, and everything that You have created, Lord, for our benefit and enjoyment.
Thank You, Father, because You show us so much love, so much forgiveness, so much mercy and grace, and so much protection from the things that could harm us. Teach us, Lord, on this new day, to love You with all our heart, all our mind, and all our soul. Show us Your will so that we may fulfill it and give us the strength and discernment we need to carry out the mission You have for us today.
In You we trust, Lord, and to You we surrender everything that does not come from You: our worries, doubts, fears, frustrations, and anxieties, because we do not know what to do with them, but You do. Fill us, Lord, with Your loving presence, and walk beside us throughout this beautiful day.
3. CADA DIA ES UN NUEVO DIA
Gracias, querido Señor, Dios Padre todopoderoso, porque nos permites abrir nuestros ojos un día más, pensar, planear, sentir tu presencia en todo lo que existe, deleitarnos con tu creación, oír el canto de los pájaros, admirar la belleza de los árboles, las plantas, las flores, los campos, las montañas, los ríos, los mares, las playas, y todo lo que Tú has creado, Señor, para nuestro beneficio y deleite. Gracias Padre, porque nos muestras tanto amor, tanto perdón, Tanta misericordia y gracia, tanta protección de lo que nos puede hacer daño. Enséñanos Señor, en este nuevo día, a amarte con todo nuestro corazón, toda nuestra mente y toda nuestra alma. Muéstranos cuál es tu voluntad para poder cumplirla y danos la fortaleza y el discernimiento que necesitamos para llevar a cabo la misión que nos des para hoy. En tí confiamos, Señor, y te entregamos todo lo que no proviene de ti, las preocupaciones, dudas, miedos, frustraciones, ansiedades, porque nosotros no sabemos qué hacer con ellas, pero Tú si sabes. Llénanos Señor con tu amorosa presencia y camina junto a nosotros durante todo este bello día.
4. WHY NOT CHOOSE LOVE?
Love for our neighbor takes many forms: a generous act, a word of encouragement, a beautiful thought toward someone, a prayer lifted for a soul in need, a sacrifice made quietly, a piece of advice, a smile offered to a stranger, or the simple act of sharing. Each of these becomes meaningful when we offer our best version of ourselves.
We all carry within us a range of versions — the best, the worst, and many in between. Yet we often move through life unaware of which version we are offering to our brothers and sisters. Through our behavior, our attitude, and our example, we hold the power to guide souls toward God or push them away. When we choose to be lights in the world — radiating love in all we do — we help one another rise, and together we walk the path toward eternal salvation.
Brothers and sisters, let us strive for our best version. The world is heavy with malice, and we need one another to stand against it. When we shine with the beauty of our soul, we give joy, we restore strength, and we fill hearts with hope and faith. We have the privilege of choosing between good and evil in every moment. So why not choose good? What keeps us from doing so?
For most of us, this requires daily work. We must cultivate qualities that may feel opposite to the habits we’ve allowed to take root: optimism instead of pessimism, enthusiasm instead of apathy, humility instead of pride, compassion instead of indifference, patience instead of impatience, forgiveness instead of vengeance. As Jesus teaches in Matthew 22:39: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
But how do we love ourselves? Let us not fall into loving our body and mind too much while neglecting our soul. How much time do we dedicate to prayer? To reading Scripture? To quiet moments seeking His presence, guidance, and protection? And how much time do we give to distractions — social media, television, entertainment, and the endless noise of the world? And to satisfy our bodies with all kinds of pleasures and vanities?
If we are honest, the imbalance reveals the condition of our soul. Let us commit to nourishing it more each day, letting go of what does not prepare us for God. May we choose the path that strengthens our spirit and leads us closer to Him.
4. ¿PORQUE NO ESCOGER EL AMOR?
Hay tantas maneras de amar a nuestro prójimo, por ejemplo, una acción generosa, unas palabras alentadoras, un pensamiento o un sentimiento bello hacia alguien, una oración por alguien que lo necesita, un sacrificio por alguien, un consejo, una sonrisa a un desconocido, compartir algo con alguien, etc. Para ello debemos siempre ofrecer nuestra MEJOR VERSION. Todos tenemos una mejor versión, una peor y varias en el medio. Muchas veces actuamos sin estar conscientes de qué versión estamos dándole a nuestros hermanos, hermanas. Con nuestras acciones, actitud, comportamiento y ejemplo tenemos el potencial de contribuir a salvar almas para Dios o a condenarlas. Si escogemos ser focos de luz y emanar amor en todo lo que hacemos, estaremos ayudándonos unos a otros a dar nuestra mejor versión, y juntos encontrar el camino que lleva hacia la salvación eterna.
Queridos hermanos y hermanas, demos nuestra mejor versión. Nos necesitamos unos a otros para combatir la malicia que existe en el mundo. Cuando nos convertimos en focos de luz y mostramos la belleza de nuestra alma a los demás, nos damos alegría, nos ayudamos a recobrar fuerzas, a llenarnos de esperanza y fe para seguir el camino de Dios, luchando contra todo aquello que nos separe de Él. Tenemos el privilegio y la capacidad de poder escoger entre hacer el bien o el mal en cualquiera de sus manifestaciones. ¿Entonces, por qué no hacer siempre el bien? ¿Qué nos impulsa a no hacerlo?
Para muchos de nosotros, por no decir para todos nosotros, esto requiere TRABAJO DIARIO, pues tenemos que desarrollar cualidades muchas veces opuestas a las actitudes que hemos permitido que se afiancen en nosotros. Por ejemplo: optimismo, entusiasmo, alegría, humildad, compasión, generosidad, esmero, paciencia, perdón, por mencionar unas pocas. Lo opuesto a estas cualidades serían: pesimismo, desgana, tristeza, pedantería, indiferencia, egoísmo, descuido, impaciencia, venganza, y tantas otras. Jesús dijo en MATEO 22:39 “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”
¿Y cómo nos amamos a nosotros mismos? Tratemos, hermanos y hermanas de no caer en amar mucho a nuestro cuerpo y a nuestra mente, pero muy poco a nuestra alma. ¿Cuánto tiempo diario dedicamos a la oración? ¿A la lectura y reflexión de Su Palabra, la Santa Biblia? A ese momento íntimo de silencio donde buscamos sentir su presencia, su guía, su protección, su cobijo, y hablar con Él. ¿Y cuánto tiempo dedicamos a todo lo demás? A entretenernos con redes sociales, televisión, películas, internet, juegos. ¿Y cuánto dedicamos a satisfacer a nuestro cuerpo y los sentidos corporales? Si somos sinceros con nosotros mismos, esto nos debería alertar del estado de nuestra alma. Hagamos el compromiso con nosotros mismos de alimentar cada vez más a nuestra alma, y poco a poco prescindir de otras cosas o actividades que no nos van a ayudar a estar listos para Dios.
5. WHY PUT OUR ETERNAL SALVATION AT RISK?
Eternal happiness in heaven is infinitely greater than any happiness we can experience in this world or even imagine. Would we really want to miss out on it? And eternal suffering in hell must be unimaginable compared to any suffering or torture we could endure in this world. Dear brothers and sisters, what leads us to gamble our eternal happiness as if we were playing the lottery? What are the chances of winning the lottery? In the same way, let us ask ourselves: What chance do we have of attaining eternal happiness with the life choices we have made and continue to make? As human beings, each of us has formed an idea—based on a mix of influences, beliefs, faith or lack of faith, illusions—about what will happen after our death. Or, in many cases, we simply avoid thinking about it and distract ourselves with other things. But there is only one truth, only one door through which we must all pass. And what is on the other side of that door? And how are we preparing for that encounter with our Father, our Creator?
Let us be honest and courageous enough to face our truth and demand of ourselves the changes we need to make in our lives, so that we do not gamble our eternal happiness like a lottery ticket, but instead make the daily effort to seek the narrow door, just as Jesus told us: “Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13–14
5. ¿PORQUE PONER EN PELIGRO NUESTRA SALVACION ETERNA?
La felicidad eterna en el cielo es infinitamente superior a cualquier felicidad que podamos experimentar en este mundo o incluso imaginarnos ¿Nos la quisiéramos perder? Y el sufrimiento eterno en el infierno debe ser inimaginable comparado con cualquier sufrimiento o tortura que podamos sufrir en este mundo. Queridos hermanos y hermanas, ¿qué nos conduce a querer jugarnos nuestra felicidad eterna como si jugáramos a la lotería? ¿Qué posibilidades tenemos de ganarnos la lotería? Así mismo preguntémonos: ¿Qué posibilidad tenemos de conseguir nuestra felicidad eterna con las elecciones de vida que hemos hecho y que continuamos haciendo? Como seres humanos cada uno de nosotros nos hemos formado una idea, basada en una combinación de influencias, creencias, fe, o falta de fe, ilusiones, de lo que nos va a suceder después de nuestra muerte. O, en muchos casos, no nos gusta pensar en eso y nos ocupamos con otras cosas. Pero solo hay una verdad, solo hay una puerta por donde todos debemos de pasar. ¿Y qué hay del otro lado de la puerta? ¿Y cómo nos estamos preparando para ese encuentro con nuestro Padre, con nuestro Creador? Sincerémonos y tengamos la valentía de enfrentarnos a nosotros mismos y exigirnos los cambios que necesitemos realizar en nuestras vidas, para no jugarnos la lotería con nuestra felicidad eterna sino hacer el esfuerzo diario de ir en búsqueda de la puerta estrecha, como nos dijo Jesús: “Entren por la puerta estrecha, porque ancha es la puerta y amplia es la senda que lleva a la perdición, y muchos son los que entran por ella. Pero estrecha es la puerta y angosta la senda que lleva a la vida, y pocos son los que la hallan” MATEO 7: 13-14
6. EVERYTHING IS A GIFT
Why don’t we see it, Lord, if it is right before our eyes, if it is so obvious? Everything is a gift from You, Lord — the very life You have given us, the living beings we are, the bodies we have, our talents and abilities, the air we breathe, the light that illuminates us, the water we drink, the daily food that sustains us and allows us to continue living on this beautiful planet.
Your blessings are so many, Lord, blessings we do not deserve, and yet You continue to pour them upon us — the song of the birds, the majesty of nature, the people You have placed on our path, our family, our friends, our clients, the home You give us, the work You allow us to have, the moments of relaxation and happiness with our loved ones.
How could we ever thank You enough, Lord? For everything comes from You. Everything we have, whether little or much, is thanks to Your infinite goodness and mercy. And how do we show our gratitude? What a wonderful Father You are, Lord — who else could endure such ungrateful children? Only You, Lord. And in this moment, those of us who read these words and meditate on them unite in prayer, sending You a deep feeling of gratitude for everything You give us and have given us, even without deserving it.
PRAYER: Dear God the Father, beloved Lord, we give You thanks for all the countless blessings with which You fill us day by day, minute by minute, second by second, patiently waiting for our love, our gratitude, our gaze, our words, our embrace. Help us, Father, to seek those moments when we escape the noise of each day and feel You, embrace You, speak to You, listen to You — feeling Your presence, Your love, Your protection, Your guidance, Your inspiration, Your strength, and Your wisdom.
We also give You thanks in this moment, Lord, for all those brothers and sisters throughout human history who forgot to thank You or did not realize what is so obvious. This prayer of gratitude is for them as well, for all the blessings received by all Your sons and daughters throughout the history of humanity. THANK YOU, BELOVED FATHER.
6. TODO ES UN REGALO
¿Porqué no lo vemos, nuestro Señor, si está delante de nuestros ojos, si es tan obvio? Todo es un regalo tuyo, Señor, la vida misma que nos has dado, el ser vivo que somos, el cuerpo que tenemos, nuestros talentos y habilidades, el aire que respiramos, la luz que nos ilumina, el agua que bebemos, el alimento diario que nos sustenta y nos permite seguir viviendo en este bello planeta.
Son tantas tus bendiciones, Señor, que no merecemos, y sin embargo continúas colmándonos de ellas, el canto de los pájaros, la majestuosidad de la naturaleza, las personas que has puesto en nuestro camino, nuestra familia, nuestras amistades, clientes, el hogar que nos regalas, el trabajo que nos permites tener, los momentos de relajación y felicidad junto a nuestros seres queridos.
¿Cómo te podremos dar tantas gracias, Señor? Pues todo proviene de Ti. Todo lo que tenemos, poco o mucho es gracias a tu infinita bondad y misericordia. ¿Y cómo lo agradecemos? Qué maravilloso Padre eres, Señor, ¿quién más pudiera aguantar a hijos tan desagradecidos? Solo Tu Señor, y en este momento aquellos que leemos estas palabras y las meditamos nos unimos en oración enviándote un profundo sentimiento de agradecimiento por todo lo que nos das y nos has dado, aun sin merecerlo.
ORACION: Querido Dios Padre, amado Señor, te damos gracias por todas las bendiciones incontables con las que nos colmas día a día, minuto a minuto, segundo a segundo, pacientemente esperando por nuestro amor, nuestro agradecimiento, nuestra mirada, nuestras palabras, nuestro abrazo. Ayúdanos, Padre, a buscar esos momentos donde nos escapamos del bullicio de cada día y te sentimos, te abrazamos, te hablamos, te escuchamos, sintiendo tu presencia, tu amor, tu protección, tu guía, tu inspiración, tu fortaleza, y tu sabiduría. Te damos gracias también en este momento Señor, por todos aquellos hermanos y hermanas a través de la historia humana que se olvidaron de dártelas o que no se dieron cuenta de lo es tan obvio. Esta oración de agradecimiento es por ellos también, por todas las bendiciones que recibieron todos tus hijos e hijas a través de la historia de la humanidad. GRACIAS, QUERIDO PADRE.
